Hard Suction Connections are used to provide fire-fighting water from static supplies (tank, dam, lake, etc.) to fire service pipe systems. They are normally provided where municipal water mains are unable to guarantee continuity of supply or operational volume/pressure requirements or in situations where a water tank has been specified for a particular site.
The Dobbie Hard Suction Connection – Storz 125mm, is a robust and cost-effective fire brigade static suction point assembly, which complies with the requirements of AS2419.1 and the Western Australian Department of Fire & Emergency Services (DFES).
The assembly comprises a genuine German sourced, forged aluminium, 125mm Storz adapter & cap with a 150mm Lever Action R/G Butterfly Valve. DFES accept Lever Action Butterfly Valves for they can assist in priming the suction line and provide rapid establishment of water supply to fire appliances. In line with DFES Guideline GL-08 “Hard Suction Connections”, the Dobbie assembly comes fitted with a bleed arrangement within the Storz end cap for pressure relief. An optional Pressure Gauge & Gauge Cock can also be fitted if specified. Assemblies can be customised for any site-specific requirements.
Assemblies are supplied with a 150mm Table ‘E’ HDG Flange for above ground connection to suction system piping. All RG couplings are HDG and UL/FM Approved.
