Dobbie’s Australian manufactured single inlet booster is fully accredited to AS2419.3:2012. This is the only such approved booster on the market!
What differentiates Dobbie’s accredited booster from others without such approval?
As per AS2419.3:2012 there are only two styles of boosters:
- Cast Bodied Boosters (Cl 1.5.3)
- Pipe Bodied Boosters (Cl 1.5.9)
The essential element of these definitions is that a booster must have a ‘body’. The Dobbie designed and manufactured single booster is the only such booster on the market that incorporates a body. What others offer constitutes an ‘insert assembly, defined in AS 2419.3:2012 (Cl 1.5.6) as: “A sub-assembly comprising a spring-operated non-return valve, a fire hose coupling and a roll grooved, screwed or flanged connection for fitting to a booster body.” Accordingly, such an item can never achieve AS2419.3:2012 accreditation as a single booster.
