Dobbie is a foundry and engineering complex located in Perth, W.A.
Our Malaga (W.A.) production complex opened in March 1998, shifting from our original, 1940 premises in East Perth, and has continued to enjoy steady capacity growth and modernisation since that time. Current facilities within the complex include:
- A modern product design department incorporating comprehensive 3D CAD modelling software, casting simulation technology and FEA prototyping optimisation capability.
- A contemporary pattern making facility, including 3D printing capability, supporting domestic and international foundry operations.
- Fully equipped ferrous and non-ferrous foundries, operating four large induction furnaces incorporating:
- Chemically hardened sand casting for robust, larger castings.
- Lost wax investment casting for smaller more intricate castings.
- Fully equipped engineering works, including multiple axis CNC and conventional, manual machining equipment e.g. borers, lathes, mills, etc.
- Comprehensive materials and product testing facilities, incorporating:
- Multiple spectrometers
- Microstructure analysis
- MPI/DPI
- Hardness
- DZR
- Electrical conductivity continuity
